I am a guitarist, producer, mixing and mastering engineer based in Rome, Italy.

I play guitar since my teenage and formed my first band when I was 18. My musical roots are deeply rock in almost all its shades, I grew up listening Guns n' Roses, Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Queen and played a lot of rock/hard rock.
I own a Fender Strat, Fender Telecaster American Standard, Ibanez JEM 555 Steva Vai, Yahama 12 strings acoustic and 6 strings acoustic.
I owned a studio recording for years, and I had the chance to record, mix and produce several awesome bands travelling from pop to Metal progressive.
I work with a Mac Pro and Logic Pro x.

Interview with Valerio M.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I owned a recording studio in Rome fro years, after that, being a musician as well, I never stopped creating and recording music
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: It's plenty of artists I would like to work with, I would like to have one of my song sung by Eddie Vedder, a solo by Slash and an acoustic arpeggio by Riche Sambora
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop-Rock, Rock, Hard Rock
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: For this kind of job, for sure the stubbornness.. I am an aries...so I keep pushing until I reach the goal
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always liked good produced music, I constantly look for the beauty of sounds. I am a maniac of sound quality indeed.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen the song few times, trying to get the idea of how it should sound. Sequence mixing is drums-bass-guitars-keyboards-voices.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a Mac Pro 5.1 with Logic Pro X and a lot of plugins. My guitars are a Fender Stratocaster, an Ibanez JEM 555 Steve Vai, a 12 strings Yamaha acoustic guitar and a 6 strings TAKAI acoustic guitar. I love the sound of my all tubes preamp SOLDANO SP-77 and my vintage FARFISA all tubes amp of 1965.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am a serial youtube watcher, trying to steal top audio engineers secrets. I can spend hours watching tutorial made by the biggest expert in Mastering and Mixing. Richie Sambora and Slash are for sure the two guitar players I got inspiration the most.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing songs, including editing (timing, pitching,etc.), and final mastering are what I do for my clients. I love to arrange and play guitars parts as well, both acoustic and electric ones.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will always do my best, because if I am not happy with a job, how the client could be?
