I love the mix and master I received from Adriane! He was totally on point with the vibe of the track and took it to the next level. It's nice and loud but also has a great balance and space for all the sounds to shine. Definitely going to get his help with future tracks.

Solid mixdown on a minimal tech house track, gave it the extra thickness I was looking for.

Interview with Adriane Jackson

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Several of my own EP releases as well as remixes. My next upcoming release will be a collaboration EP between me and Timmy P dropping on Seb Zito's 'Seven Dials' label, featuring original vocals from Silyla.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: My debut EP release on Strictly Rhythm which was featured in Mixmag and received amazing press, radio and DJ support.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Yoad Nevo/Joel Woolfenden.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both. There are many advantages of both digital and analogue, that when utilised together, create impeccable sonic capabilities.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I put 100% into everything and will do whatever I can to make sure you are more than satisfied.

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: That I only do house music. I produce/engineer most dance music genres.

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Hit me up! Lets chat and see how we can get the most out of your record. I'm here to help however I can 😊

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: 10 years in the game, starting off as young teenaged producer developing into the producer/engineer I am today.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: For house music production, a fusion of UK house & garage and Chicago house. For hip-hop/R&B production, think Soulection. For all mixing/mastering work, I describe my sound as fat and crispy.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: Producer: Lone. The musicality in his productions is otherworldly, and i would love to collaborate with him. Rapper: GoldLink. His music inspires me heavy on the hip-hop side of things. I think we could cook up some heat. Singer: Jorja Smith, because shes Jorja Smith.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: Harmonic exciters/saturators are far less destructive than EQ's when trying to 'boost' or enhance certain frequency ranges. Many EQ's introduce unpleasant distortion when pushed too hard, hence why their's more value in making EQ 'cuts' instead of boosts. Try using an exciter/saturator to fatten up your low-end, brighten your highs, or add some warmth in your mid-range.

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: I tend to work on house music the most given that is what I make as an artist, however I also work on most other dance music genres. Most notably hip-hop and R&B.

  25. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  26. A: When mixing dance music, drums are always a strong point for me. I'm known for being able to bring drums to life, making them really punch as well as sound crisp/sharp whilst retaining clean dynamics. Not to mention the clarity and depth across the rest of the frequency spectrum. I always aim to find the middle ground between a polished sounding track that also has a lot of character and colour through using my various analogue and digital processors harmoniously. All of this ca be heard via my audio samples.

  27. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  28. A: I always aim to get the most out of a song without going overboard, whether i'm producing, mixing, mastering, etc.

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: The most common type of work I carry out for clients is mixing and mastering. Generally, the production side of things tends to be when I am producing beats/instrumental tracks for vocalists or doing remixes. I do offer production work on other producers/artists projects as well.
