Interview with Demo My Song™

Analog or digital and why?
Both. Definitely both.
What's your 'promise' to your clients?
We aim to create art with you. The music industry is a fickle business, but music is not in our opinion. Music is eternal. We want to make great music with you.
What do you like most about your job?
The spontaneity of working on a new piece of music every day.
What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
We have been in business since 2004. Since then we have produced over 1600 song with over 500 artists.
Can you share one music production tip?
I like to ask the band to check their tuning frequently with a digital tuner. Also.. tune those dang drums!
What type of music do you usually work on?
Because our team is so diverse, there is no such thing as usual around here! Besides our focus which is helping songwriters get published, we have also worked on mixing projects for Grammy winning artist Cory Henry, and our music has been featured on ABC television.
What's your strongest skill?
To understand the unique vision of every artist we work with is our greatest asset as collaborators. We are driven by a love of songwriting. Collaborating with up and coming lyric writers and singer-songwriters is our passion.
What do you bring to a song?
Our team is an un-stoppable ensemble of songwriters, studio musicians, and producers working together with you towards one collective goal — making great music! We offer direct collaboration with seasoned studio professionals and session singers, many of whom are Berklee College of Music grads.
What's your typical work process?
Most songwriting and recording projects are completed with two weeks. We often will chat with you over the phone before getting started on the music just to make sure we are on the same page. Then if we have any questions while working on the recording we will reach out to you. Songs that you are co-publishing with us will also get album artwork and distribution to 90 + sites including iTunes, Spotify and more within the following two two weeks.
Tell us about your studio setup.
Our studio is in Midtown Manhattan. We also book sessions with our customers in Mirrotone Studios, Studio G, and Sear Sound when a larger live room suitable for large bands is needed. We work with customers online too, so it doesn't matter where you live if you wish to collaborate with us.
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
We are most inspired by those artists and musicians who dared to dream big, even when they failed hard along the way.
Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
Songwriting is a specialty. Creating a song from from a lyric or rough demo that we receive is what gets us going in the morning! We also love working with singer-songwriters who already a fully written song but need to hire a music producer or studio musician to complete the music they already have.
