Hi there! My name is Matheus Beividas, I am a mixing engineer specialized in Pop, Hip-Hop and RnB music, but I can really work with any other genres.
I value integrity and serve the music.

Interview with Matheus 'Vrox' Beividas
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: It is not uncommon for people to think that mixing is 100% independent of the music itself, when, in reality, I would say it is the opposite. That is why every mix is unique.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be sure to hear the work the provider have done, once you know what you are looking for, your search will be easier. Also don't be afraid to make contact, you could get a lot by asking your personal questions to the professional, it can be a 'tiebreaker'.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on a range of different styles, but the majority of my projects are in the Pop/Mainstream area.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment I am working on a couple of singles and a EP for Brazilian artists, as well as a Single project for a German artist.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I absolutely love to be connected with new artists and new songs 24/7. It is inspiring to be able to impact positively in a piece of music when you work as a mixer.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Usually, what is the direction they are going for, meaning what did they have in mind in production stage. Also, their influences and if they were to play after or before an artist/band in a show, for example, who are these artists/bands. Anything that can get me closer to what is in the clients mind for the song.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would say I am more of a Hi-fi guy, but my main goal is to serve the music, go for what the music needs.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always listen and question yourself, 'What am I listening? What do I feel I want to listen?' and close your eyes whenever you can, that helps a lot improving your critical listening. Controversially, try not to overthink anything.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I would say my attention to detail, and that helps me a lot when it comes to mixing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: For the public? I make sure they don't notice the mix. But for the song I always bring the best out of it, making sure it is presented the best way possible considering the concept behind the production, and its final destination.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Well, before getting into it, I just make sure with the client that I have all the files, everything is working and nothing is missing or needs to be exported again. Then I import my session and dive into it. Mixing wise, there is no usual process, but I keep it consistent between every mix. When it comes to delivery, I usually like to give it a night, so I hear the mix again with fresh ears and also outside the studio to make sure it is the best possible before sending it back to the client for feedbacks and recalls. It all depends on schedules and my agenda, but that is usually it. Of course, each project is unique, so I can't really predict all the steps, even though there is a common path I usually follow.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I get most of my inspiration from discovering new sounds. The originality of a production, independently of which professional it comes from.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm primarily a mixing engineer. I work with artists from classical to EDM, but most of my work are pop, RnB or electronic music.
