I have witnessed this in studios, big and small, from Nashville to New York City. While being mentored by some of the best producers and engineers in pop and country music, I learned how to mix, edit and process vocals to the highest quality. All in the while developing a unique sound in pop, hip hop, rock, country, and electronic music. Playing many instruments from drums to mandolin gives me the freedom to create unique tracks that enhance and compliment vocals and lyrics.

Interview with Lucas Hass
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I think a combination of quality analog and digital gear yields the best results. I work frequently with 24 track tape and there is definitely sonic magic to it, but it doesn't work for all projects. I think there are some plugins out there that sound better than some analog gear as well.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I usually start production in Pro Tools, Ableton or Reason and then move over to Pro Tools when it comes time for mixing or tracking vocals. I use a U87 into a Warm Audio WA73 preamp. I use Universal Audio converters and have a very long list of plugins.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out as an intern at a big studio in Nashville and eventually took on a staff engineer position at studio in NYC. I have been actively working as a producer and engineer for 5 years now.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being the first person to hear an artistic idea come to life is what I love most about being and engineer and producer.
