Once again Chris has produced excellent sounding mixes!

The easiest ever to work with and great quality for my podcasts, as always.

Chris crushed the edit and reduced significant echo and background noise on two guests. The audio went from being almost unlistenable to being clean and broadcast standard. Amazing work!

Once again Chris did an excellent job. My music really shines with his mixing/mastering. First call on the next Dolby Atmos project!

Chris Perry's Atmos mixes really bring out the nuances in the music. Compared to quite a few Atmos mixes (some of them charted releases), his work for me totally transcends the generic-ness of others. Recommended!

Chris was very easy to work with, responsive and gave extra detail to help my mix before mastering the song itself and enhancing what was already. I'll be back with my band's next song for sure.

Chris was absolutely a pleasure to work with. Responded to all my questions in detail, made accurate revisions, I'll definitely be working with him again in the future.

Chris is very good at what he does and is also very attentive and listens. The latter might be even more important.

If you're on the fence, choose Chris! We're always really picky with our music and have a hard time letting go of the mix, etc., and I can say after two songs, we completely trust his ear. He knows what he's doing and will bring a whole new layer of magic to your songs.

Interview with Chris Perry
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A lot of atmos mixes!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, but mostly digital. There is a time and a place for a lot of analog gear, whether it be outboard or a bunch of guitar amps. To me, the digital modelling is pretty much there, and the flexibility of digital is absolutely required for modern music mixing and production.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A lot of experience is many facets of the music industry. I try to assist in creating music that makes an impact.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a mixing and production studio in downtown Toronto. It is a modern based around a hybrid analog/digital setup
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I specialize in mixing (both stereo and atmos), post production editing, as well as full productions.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That they will be happy with the end result.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The belief that quality gear will lead to quality results. Don't get me wrong, good gear is fine, but it's all about the skill and creativity of the operator.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: "What are you planning to do with this project once it is mixed and mastered?" The answer to this question generally answers every other question I could possibly ask!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Limit the number of tracks in your productions. Create engaging and empowering parts that give the listener something to hang on to. Don't layer a bunch of fog into it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly broad-stokes pop music. From alternative, to rock, to country, to R&B, but mostly fairly mainstream commercial music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My intuition. I think that in mixing and producing, it's all about having a sense of what will work, and how to get there. So, I think my strongest skill is having a good sense of these things.
