Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: To this day, I still fan girl about singing "Love's In Need of Love Today" with Stevie Wonder himself, at the Microsoft Theater for his "House Full of Toys" Benefit Concert.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: While working with my 30 weekly vocal coaching clients, I'm also doing a lot of songwriting gigs. I released a few songs with music videos on my Spotify/YouTube this year as well, under Laci Mercede. I have been focused on my project lately. I have an albums worth of unreleased songs so I am getting ready to release a lot of songs this year.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: You will receive what we agree on, I ain't the scam-y type. I work very hard and very efficiently. I'm on time, professional, and deliver at the highest quality. That's my own personal standard.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I get to do music everyday for a living... that's a pretty rare thing to credibly say. I love that I even get to do it.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: I think people think music is easy. But it's a lot of hours in the studio diving into that specific songs world, which is hard to walk away from. However I love music so much that it doesn't feel draining at all, and I feel grateful to be apart.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: Shoot... I would just bring water. How could I bring gear to a place with no electricity? If I could have electricity though, I'd say a mic, interface, computer, speakers, and a midi controller.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: Moved to LA when I was 7. I was a child actor (shameless plug: check my IMDb) and started doing music when I was 11 as a fun thing to do. Started doing shows, releasing music, writing songs. Over time, I booked a lot of jobs, worked with a lot of people, and started working full time in music. Was signed to 3 different production deals, and decided to be independent. Been at this for 14 years now.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: Being a 21 year old girl, I feel this youthful feminine approach to writing, which I feel more songs need nowadays. I connect to every lyric so deeply and I sing every word so meaningfully. I take music serious. I will do what the song needs to be its fullest potential.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I have a studio in my house in the valley of Los Angeles. I use Abelton Live 10 DAW with Yamaha HS8 speakers using an Apollo Twin MKII Interface. I have a Neumann u87 mic for all vocals/vocal production. I also have Yamaha s80 keyboard to write songs with. I also use all different types of third party and in-house plugins.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I've always connected to SZA's, Frank Ocean's, Kehlani's, and Amy Winehouse's lyrics/songs. They make me feel something other artists can't.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: Songwriting/toplining, recording/singing, vocal coaching... a little bit of it all.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: Luke Mitchell, by far. If you need a male vocalist, a producer, a mixing engineer or literally anything... he's the sound master. I'd recommend him to everyone.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Digital. You can either sing and write songs or you can't.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: They normally ask for stems lol. And I say "here ya go" after I deliver them organized.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: I just make sure that we are both clear in our agreement before moving forward so that when its time to do the job, everyone's on the same page.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: All I ask is that you are clear with what you want from the get-go so we can get a finished product faster, and so it makes it easier for me to understand so I can deliver better for you. If you know what you want, I can know what you want, and everything will go smoothly.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: Modern and tasteful. Lots of soul and feels.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: A dream collab would be with SZA, Kanye West, Mark Ronson. They're all geniuses. I would love to feel the energy in that room. But also getting to pick apart Frank Oceans brain would be life changing.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Don't overthink it. If it feels good, it's good. Stop caring about what "the industry" needs. Be a game changer.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: R&B and Pop. But I write a lot for EDM DJ's as well. I'm familiar in those 3 genres the most.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Singing, songwriting, and vocal production. I am confident in my taste with vocals and lyrics.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I put my mind to the job that I agreed on and get it done in the artistic but correct way. Simple as that.
