Interview with Kyle Johnson
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm always growing my business. New services and packages for my music production company are being added at website.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. I use both and they both have their places in audio production. Digital has made many aspects easier and more consistent. Analog brings a certain character or coloration that can't be fully copied. It can get close but there will always be a slight difference that favors the actual hardware.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm not a wizard! I can't fix certain things that have been printed on the files. For instance, if you send poor quality recordings then there is only so much a professional mix will do. The same goes for mastering if you send me a poor quality mix.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I generally ask about the project but y questions are mostly depended on what service I'm booked for.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: If you have any questions then just ask. I'm here to help you in any way that I can. I understand how important your music is to you as I'm a musician that writes music as well. Also if you're not sure how to send files to mix engineer then I suggest doing some research. There is hundreds of videos on youtube on how to prepare files to a mix engineer or mastering engineer.
