Isabelle Banos on SoundBetter

My music has charted #1 on national radio, has over 1 million streams, and has appeared in ads, tv shows and movies on Netflix, HULU, FX, MTV, Syfy, and more!

Isabelle Banos is a Montreal-based mixing engineer and a founding member of the alternative pop band Caveboy, in which she plays bass and synthesizers. She has performed across Canada, showcased throughout the U.S., and participated in major music conferences all over the world. While she loves working on music in many genres, she most enjoys working on genre bending pop and rock music that blends together her various influences from previous decades.

Her music has appeared in ads, tv shows and movies, most notably Caveboy's "Something Like Summer" in Netflix's Maid. Her most recent project was re-imagining a holiday classic for the popular film Happiest Season (Hulu). In 2020, Music Publishers Canada named her among the Top 8 emerging female producers in Canada to be welcomed into the 2020 "Women in the Studio" accelerator program. She has written columns for Canadian Musician magazine and was featured in their 2018 "Queens of the Low Frequencies" article, in which she was highlighted as one of the leading female bass players in Canada.

Isabelle is a featured educator on LANDR's YouTube channel, as well as a regular volunteer for the Montreal chapter of Rock Camp For Girls.

  24. A: I promise to keep working until you are 100% satisfied with the final result, and I will do it all with patience, kindness, professionalism, and a dad joke here and there.

  25. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  26. A: Collaborating with other artists because I love learning about new musical projects and being challenged out of my comfort zone by working with people who are completely different from me.

  27. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  28. A: Take the time to listen through some of the provider's work, and chat with them to get their vibe. Don't hesitate to ask questions. Choose the person who you feel will take your project as seriously as you do, instead of it just being some paid gig.
