Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work from my state of the art home studio in Los Angeles. I have everything a producer needs to create professional recordings from audio gear and instruments to software.

A: A soul pop album for Sony Music

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Soul music from RnB to Pop to Country
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am proud of a song I wrote, called "Brighter Than Black and White" that was released on the acclaimed Ezhevika record label. I wrote, produced and performed the song with a collaborator of mine.

A: Digital for eqs, compressors and reverbs . Analog for everything else

A: I will work until you are totally satisfied with what I provide

A: The people, the music and the gear
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People think that because I work in one genre, it means I cannot do good work in another, but as a professional, working across genres, makes me a stronger musician across the board.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your deadline? Can you send me reference tracks? What is your goal with this project?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Please don't hesitate to talk with providers on the phone. So much can communication is lost through text. It's important to verbally communicate and stay on the same page.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Q Martin acoustic guitar, Gibson ES135, Matchless Clubman, Shure SM57 and a four track tape recorder
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing guitar professionally and touring the country when I was a teenager. I have a Master of Music degree in Studio Composition and have been producing music for well over a decade.

A: Chris Stapleton because he is a powerhouse performer who can take a song to amazing heights
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Experiment with parallel compression to get that extra oomph into your mix
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My ability to listen
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a tasteful rock and roll sensibility to my work. The gives every song I work on a certain edge.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: We start by outlining our goals for the project. The we brainstorm ideas for how we want the song to turn out. We take as long as it takes to write and arrange the song, then after a break and a cup of coffee, we start recording. Once we are happy with the performances on the recording, we move on to editing and mixing. We can take a half day per song to get it sounding just right, and then I master the track and delivery it to the client.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am a big fan of the DIY Musician wave that is taking over the airways, but there are certain producers that continue to inspire me in their productions and their successes. These include producers such Dave Cobb, Tchad Blake, Jon Brion and Niles Godrich. Sessions musicians such as Matt Chamberlain and Brent Mason always blow me away in their professionalism.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually work directly with an artist from the early stages of preproduction to the final mixing and mastering stages. As a composer and producer, I help artists craft and arrange their songs and see their vision through during the recording and mixing process.
