My main goal is to make your music the best it can be and help bring your artistic vision to life.

Hi, my name is Andrew Young. I'm from Los Angeles, CA. I've been playing music for most of my life. Throughout the years, I've been in bands, wrote and produced for other independent artists and had songs placed on TV shows. My specialty would be in producing, mixing, and mastering. I have my services available on other freelance platforms and have maintained a 5 star rating on all of them. Now I'd like to make myself available to the sound better community.

The attention to detail on the track was amazing and I could really hear the depth of the vocals and the crispness of the instrumentals. Thanks for the proactive communication throughout the process and the respect for the deadline. Will definitely work with again!

Interview with Andrew Young

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Other than recording/mixing for clients, I also make music under the artist name, Acid Rescues. I've been consistently releasing singles since 2019.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I give my best to every project I work on.

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: Cubase, Akai MPK Mini, Fender telecaster, Melodyne, a large diaphragm condenser mic

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: The end result is an accumulation of all the moves/choices you made so make sure you are trying your best in every step of the process.

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: Understanding the artist and helping them achieve the best outcome.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: Organize and clean up stems, mix instruments and then do vocals. In the end, I use a combo of analog outboard gear and plug ins to give it a powerful master.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: All genres but I specialize in indie pop and rock.

  15. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  16. A: Both! Analog can give a certain vibe and warmth that digital cannot. Digital sounds amazing too and it helps save time.

  17. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  18. A: The best part is delivering the project to the client and seeing them happy and satisfied with the results.

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I started out as a singer/songwriter recording at different studios and performing around. About 7 years ago, I bought a little recording set up to get my ideas and demos recorded. As I was learning how to produce, I became obsessed with the craft and kept going at it, non stop. I was reaching out to so many people and trying to get my hands on any project I can, even for free, because I loved doing it. Eventually, I was able to build a business offering my services.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: I provide professional mixing and mastering services.

  23. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  24. A: I work out of my home studio. The space is treated and I use a combination of analog and digital tools.
