From humble beginnings performing on the Sheffield music scene, being one of the original members of Reverend & The Makers, Dave's multi-instrumentalism, knowledge, innate musicality, and good ears led to a divergence in his path to become a creative and sought-after music producer and mixer.
He has worked with a huge range of artists including 65daysofstatic whom he has produced and engineered their last 5 albums and has had 2 UK Top 20 albums with Reverend And The Makers as well as much critical acclaim for most of the work he's carried out over the course of his career.

Interview with Dave Sanderson
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Music For An Infinite Universe by 65daysofstatic. I was heavily involved not just in the recording and production for this album but also in the completion of the arrangements and to some degree writing process.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Several album mixing projects plus some artist development and a little writing of my own.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I've not looked too much but people willing to charge a little more tend to believe they can do the job required. Don't go for the cheapest.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Each good for some things.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will fulfil your vision.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Freedom, earning a living to provide for my family doing something I love. Getting great results and seeing artists happy.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How much does it cost? My answer....what's your budget?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I just work on with indie bands.

A: What do you want achieve and what budget do you have?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just make sure your communication is clear and you know what you want to achieve.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Started in playing guitar in bands in my teens and migrated into recording professionally around the age of 30 so quite late but I'd always had a keen interest in recording from an early age.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Varied, clear, relatable and dynamic.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Bjork. For her creativity and envelope pushing.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Check phase at every step of the way.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually slightly left of centre indie type stuff but I have worked on everything you can imagine over the course of my career.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Translating the artists vision.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Taste, technique, vision.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start at the beginning get to middle and finish with the end.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm based mainly at my home these days and I mix entirely in the box for convenience. My set up consists of a MacBook pro Laptop running a UAD Apollo with Amphion and Yamaha NS10 monitors. The room is nicely treated and mixes translate really outside of the space.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: For mixing Andrew Scheps and Tchad Blake I like due not only to their abilities but also for their philosophies towards music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I undertake preproduction, recording and mix work with the majority of the artists I work with but will often arrange and help with composition or lyrical content/delivery. I also play on many of the projects I work on if it's required.
