Interview with SK Mixing / Mastering
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Any work is precious to me.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My songs which will be released from a label.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Sorry I don't know.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Integrity is very important, I promise I'll be so.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I am the first person who can hear the cool song in this world!! Mixing process is like a sculpturing, as like to remove many veils gradually the song's attractiveness will appear.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Frequent question is "How can you improve my song?". My answer depends on each song but commonly "I can provide more clarity for your song."
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: It is more important for the love of music than purchasing gears.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I'll ask your reference song, this will be a great help to know your preference of frequency balance and loudness.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: 1. Always we should talk more concretely, for example "I want more punchy KICK and SNARE" instead of "More energy please". 2. If you have a tight budget you don't need to hesitate to contact to me, I'll respond what I can do for you within your budget.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: More than 10 years of track making. Started to provide mix/mastering officially since 2017.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clarity and Warmness, but I'll adopt your preference with adding my flavour.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Mid-low frequency is often muddy, in such case use EQ and cut 2 db around 200 hz to 350 hz with wide Q. Masked frequency, below 200 hz will appear and make more low frequency alive.

A: Techno, Minimal, Tech-House, EDM.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Building nice sounding low frequency with clarity.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: 1. Nice low frequency, floor-rocking KICK! 2. Clarity for each frequency (Mainly Mixing Service) 3. Appropriate stereo image (Mainly Mixing Service) 4. Appropriate loudness
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: 1. Discuss with clients about final image, reference song 2. Make rough mix or master and check whether it's meeting the client's preference. 3. Make more details (Automations, Analog process or so) for final master 4. Deliver final stereo mix / master to client 5. Minor changes if client want to do so 6. Complete!
