  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Mechi Pieretti

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: It really depends but I'd have to say Analog. Nothing beats the warmed of analog.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise is that you'll get maximum effort for every job. I promise a turn around time that is more than reasonable for the job given.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love the fact that I can be creative and that my customers usually give me room to be as creative as I possibly can. I don't feel constricted.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Usually customers ask about splits and what my turn around time is like.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception is that it is easy work and that it happens overnight.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I ask what it is that their looking for. What is the overall vibe? What artist inspired the track. What songs (if any) can I use as a reference.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Trust your ears. Work with someone open to seeing YOUR vision.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: I would take my trusty AT2020, my mbox (never let me down), Snowball for mic isolation, Headphones

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been writing songs since 2011. I went to school as Full Sail University for Audio Engineering in 2012. I eventually moved to Los Angeles from New Jersey in 2015. I attended Cre8 Music Academy in West Hollywood in 2017. I now am in-house writer at Westlake Recording Studio

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: I would describe my style as vibey and fresh yet contemporary at times. It really depends on what the record calls for.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I'd love to work with James Fauntleroy because listening to his demos back in 2009-2011 was what made want to become a writer.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Write what you would want to hear in a song as opposed to what you think other people would want to hear. Listeners and since genuine emotions and authenticity.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually work on Pop, Urban R&B, and Trap records. I'd say that rap/trap has become heavily melody driven which makes me able to use my strongest skill ever more often than years prior!

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Ability to write strong, catchy, and interesting melodies that keeps the listeners invested and never bored

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring a very unique tone first and foremost. Starting in music with Rap/hip-hop, I've always been more lyric-oriented. It wasn't until 2014 where I can say melody writing became my strongest skill

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I typically get a track to work on by my clients and after loading it into pro tools, I make sure my key and bpm is set and matching the instrumental. Then I record a series of melodies for each part of the song (Verse, Pre, Hook, etc.). While a lot of people like to work from the hook first, I like to work from the first verse first.
