I just finished my second song with Xevi (mixed and mastered), and am very happy with the results. As before, he was easy to work with, and did an excellent job of adding (and improving upon) all of my suggestions. I plan on using him for the rest of my L.P.
I just completed my first song with MixedByHill, with Xevi doing mixing & mastering. I loved that he truly listened to my song to determine what it needed. He followed my notes re: what I wanted to achieve, and added his personal ideas and touch .... exactly the sort of collaboration I wanted. Xevi has a good ear and understands how music should evoke emotions. I'll be using him for my next songs. Highly ecommended!
Such a pleasure working with him again! He is super patient and always goes above and beyond to make the music perfect.

Interview with MixedByHill
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Write me a message, don't hesitate on this. Let's talk and see what we can do with your music. Can't wait to start to work!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Hip-Hop and Electronica, recently a lot of R'n'B, trap and huge variety of Urban Music Style.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creativity and originality. I love experiment, go one step forward, I love be unique, trying to create my signature sound. I love to give mojo and vibe to my clients songs.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First of all I listen the track, with a fresh ears. Trying to understand which kind of feeling the artist wants to explain and how I can help to achieve it. Second, I spend a lot of time cleaning the project and making little tweaks on the volume, panning to get a great balance between the tracks. Then is when the magic starts.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio SetUp is very minimal, I love the "Less is More" as a way of work. I have high end audio converters from Apogee and Adam and Avantone Monitors. When I mix I love to make the cirurgical work with digital EQ's and compressors (I used to work with FabFilter, Waves and UAD) because it's easier to me get better detailed results. I use hardware when I work on groups and mix buss to get the mojo and the vibe. I use 1176 clone on drums, Fairchild on the mixbus also PullTec and a SSL Compressor Clone, I use Millenia Preamps to enhance almost every VST Intrument that I have. My mastering Chain are featured by Dangerous Audio EQ, Distopik Limiters, Manley EQ's, Fairchild Clone Compressor and Digital Stereo Imagers like Ozone or multiband enhancers like Gullfoss from SoundTheory.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm producing and engineering couple of works. One album by Deepdayz and other by BlueMay.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: "Studio A" mostly analog, on the analog world you have more expenses and the workflow is a little bit more complex, this is why my work on the "Studio A" is more expensive. "Studio B" it's all about digital. Almost the same professional results, nowadays digital world are awesome and most of tope producers in the game are using a lot of digital tools.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I make your songs better and we make the inner feeling of the song get out to the world.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, Ableton Live, Sennheiser headphones, Neumann mic, UAD interface. Easy to use in a desert island, good results and easy to pack :).
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Last 5 years I've been mixing tracks and learning for myself. Also producing a lot of stock music and working in my own music project. Last year I decided to study, so right now I'm graduated at London School of Sound with a degree of audio mixing and mastering and working full time as a audio engineer in my studios here in Barcelona.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more, always.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm a communicator and a Good Vibes maker. I think that the relationship with the client is one of the most important things. Also I'm a musician, so it's really easy for me understand the artist side.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Moon Vision new album. Producer and mixer engineer, you can check couple of songs in my soundcloud, also one of them in my Sound Better profile. Hope you like it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Is always different and very creative. I could do it 24/7.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: My best Price. It depends on the style of music and the work that I'll spend on it.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The amount of hours that I need to get better skills.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: The mood of the song, the inner meaning. Is crucial to me understand this two factors.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Organic and warm, I love a little bit of dirty and authenticity in the tracks that I make.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: My dream is work with and unknown artist, mix their record and make a big success. From 0 to 100.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My favorite mixers in the business are Jaycen Joshua, Chad Blake, Dave Pensado and Tony Maserati. I'm feeling really inspired by artists like Kendrick Lamar, Bon Iver, Thom Yorke or James Blake.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mostly records that I love. Which includes all kind of electronic music, pop, hip-hop, trap, lo-fi and derivates.
