Seth Ford-Young is a bassist, composer and singer based in Los Angeles. He has collaborated with a dazzling cross section of artists, from Tom Waits, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Beats Antique to The Hot Club of San Francisco, Rocco DeLuca and Barry Manilow.
Ford-Young started his musical adventures as the lead singer of punk band Initial Reaction, which played clubs around Washington DC. While it might seem like a long journey from DC Hardcore to Chamber music, Pop, Jazz and beyond, Ford-Young gleaned a tremendous amount of information about life on and off the bandstand during his punk days that he’s still drawing from today.

I've worked with Seth on many projects over the years and Seth is as good as they come. I recently hired Seth to do a remote session for my new record. I did an arrangement of the Squarepusher song "Beep Street" for string quartet, upright bass, drums and piano. I was unable to find a bass player locally who could play the difficult arrangement so I reached out to Seth and a few days later I had a killer take with 2 different microphone positions that took my arrangement to the next level. I can not recommend Seth enough!
