I had a song I needed mastered. I reached out to Brayan and he was super informative about what would best suit the sound of the song. He turned around the mastered song in less than a day. Really reliable and really great product. Happy to have had Brayan involved!

Interview with Brayan De Ita Romero

  1. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  2. A: To many to even begin ... but if i had to choose 3, it would be Ed Sheeran, Witt Lowry, Bebe Rexha. The reason why is because both of the three artist have either a unique style of working wether it's playing live guitar and recording every take live with passion within takes, or even how creative sessions could get going from beat production to song writing to recording.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: "Whats is your goal?","Do you have anything in mind?", and "Are currently or are you eventually thinking about making more music?"

  5. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  6. A: Currently working on a project with an upcoming artist whose work is amazing, it easily distinguishes a beginner to a more professional artist and allows my mixing and mastering job to be a lot more easier and creative.

  7. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  8. A: Have not really had any good conversations with any of the other artist on here but i've heard many great stories about some but, personally i wouldn't be able to recommend any without my full encounter with them.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Quality and Perfection i hate giving minimal effort, as for my hate towards laziness has gotten me to where i am today. Remember "Greatness did not come from a thought but threw an action."

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: "How long will it take?" is probably the most asked questioned but it really depends on the complexity of the mix it could take a couple hours or even a couple days. It could be a two track mix or it could be a multi track out beat with multiple vocal takes.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: Recording Artist, Recently started making connections with big industry name people to get my self heard but i've been working on my own writing songs since i was high school and in middle school.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: Communication with client in understanding what he or she wants and creating a plan and progress for them to decide and agree upon. Next is organizing and importing files into DAW and cleaning, editing, and organizing work stations for the mix. Onces all that has been done i move into volume mix's and panning mixing even before i throw plugins onto the mix racks. I also take a close listen to the feel and vibe of the song to get a clear understanding of what he or she was envisioning while writing in order to attain that vision and translated it to its song.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: Music producer that goes by the name "Boyfifty", his work is amazing. He has many collabs with great artist, and he's skilled at almost anything he touches.

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: Upfront, meaningful, and emotionally focused! I like mixes that translate emotions from an artist into a song. Whether it is a trap/hyped song (that's make you feel happy and energized) or a sad and emotional and heartbreaking song that's where my focus tends to be on in creating that atmosphere.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: DAW: Studio One 4 Pro Equipment: Yamaha's HS8 Studio Monitors, Neumann TLM 103, Presonus M7,AKG C214, Rode NT1, Scarlett 2i2 Interace, BeyerDynamic DT 770 Headphones.

  23. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  24. A: That i can make a hit record of a laptop's single take recording. I cannot., don't think no one can haha

  25. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  26. A: Know what you want and have a realistic goal in mind don't assume you will have a hit record if you hand in sloppy work. "Remember you get back what you put in, in the first place." Us engineers are only half of the iceberg you have to make something sound good for it to be good.

  27. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  28. A: It's hard to say, and update you with a definite answer everytime. I work remotely with many other artist who are either working on there first mixtape or a single.

  29. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  30. A: Both, i think digital has its own place for upcoming artist and engineers but analog is really where all the sweet things are.

  31. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  32. A: Seeing the end result and outcome of the song and getting to enjoy it at its fullest threw my monitiors. AMAZING!!!

  33. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  34. A: Laptop, Microphone, Monitors, Studio Headphones, and a MIDI Keyboard. Lets have a blast ! ! !

  35. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  36. A: Practice, practice and lots of practice mixing. Also learn to play and instrument and learning to decide what sounds good by imagening yourself in that other persons shoes and not yours.

  37. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  38. A: Creativy threw various fx and and techniques (Reverse rises, Vocoder's, Vocal Synths, ect..). Also emotions and vibes, that translate from the person and its song.

  39. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  40. A: Perservirance and detailing im am very perfectionist when it comes to mixing i can spend hours upon hours just trying to fix the volume if even a micro secon is off.

  41. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  42. A: Hip-Hop, Pop, and Indie Rock Music

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
