Interview with JAM3S

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: If I have to choose one, the song Matar La Pena (Besmaya x Malmo 040). My role was to check the production, and mix/mastering the track. That song has now 5M in Spotify, and the artists we are talking about are growing so fast. I'm so proud to be part of that rising talent movement in my country (Spain) :)

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: In the studio: My new EP (for 2023), 2 Albums for local artists, and some mixes and masterings.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I'm sure that the most people here are very professional. I'm new in the platform so i need more time to be concrete about this question

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital. The reason is total recall. If i had infinity time and the music industry were in the 90s, i'd say Analog :)

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: The question: Is this going to work? And the answer: Is this working for you? Because you can't control what people is going to like or dislike, but if you like you own work is easier to defend your craft.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception in music is to do it for social acceptance. That's the biggest error ever.

  18. A: Why are you making this song? What are your goals? Are you doing this for yourself or for social acceptance?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Always communication is the base of the pyramid. A good and fluid communication is the key to find what you what and what you need.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: With the best MacBook Pro, an Apollo Twin, Shure Sm7B, Fender Telecaster and a Midi Controller you can make a bunch of music.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been playing the piano and guitar for 16 years, producing and mixing for 10 years.
