My name is Scott Friedman. I am a music producer, mixer, sound designer, etc.
I work with bands and artists, either producing or mixing, or both. I have been producing and mixing for 20 years. I started when I was 16 at HSR Recording and Crushing Music in NYC, Soundtrack and Cyber Sound in Boston, and Endless Noise in Santa Monica. I spend most of my time producing, mixing and composing.
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with Scott Friedman
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. They are both great for different reasons and both bring a different feel to the mix.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will put my all into it. I do every time. It will sound good, and I will work hard until you are happy.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: making stuff sound good!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: computer, apollo, 1073, 1176, midi controller
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: grew up working in recording studios from age 16. Worked at Endless Noise, a music house in Santa Monica, Now I freelance.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: mostly rock, metal and electronic.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: mixing
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring energy, power, and hopefully some epic flare to a song (unless it needs something else).
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It's always different, which I love.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a basic pro tools setup at home with some BAE outboard gear and an Apollo interface with UAD plugins, also tons of Waves, Izotope, and Sonnox plugins, etc.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Chris Lord Alge is the person who inspired me to be a better mixer. I also really enjoyed working with Luca Pretolesi, who is an amazing mixer/mastering engineer. I love all kinds of music, but rock, metal, and electronic are my favorite genres.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I can either start with a client or band from pre-production all the way to mastering, or I can come in for the mix process only. Either way works for me. I love being able to make something out of nothing, but I also love taking something that sounds decent and making it really shine. I can produce, compose, mix, and even master if it is a low budget gig.
