Mixing & Mastering Engineer

Ainje on SoundBetter

I'm Ainje (rhymes with strange). I mix and master every genre under the sun. If I have the privilege to work on your music, the result will be no less than a masterpiece.

I graduated with honors from Belmont University's audio engineering program & have been mixing professionally ever since. Regarding my personal mixing style, I like crafting punchy drums, deep bass with ultra-smooth guitars and vocals. I consider this to be my sonic signature. In mastering, I like to keep everything as clear and delicate as possible while bringing out all the details the mix has to offer.

My services are just a click away. Let's complete your masterpiece.

Interview with Ainje

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I was originally studying economics in college, but it wasn't for me. I transferred to Belmont University and have been mixing/mastering since then.

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: I would like to work with Alison Krauss because her voice is smooth and clear while her music gives me a lot of opportunity to bring out unnoticed energy.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I like owning my work. I believe every person ought to be able to be their own boss.

  7. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  8. A: No, but I'm looking forward to meeting more professionals in my field.

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: The biggest misconception is that people think we always know what we're doing when in reality many beautiful mixes can happen on accident. Sometimes your lack of knowledge can lead you to new horizons that would've otherwise gone undiscovered.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: It might be a sin to say it, but I prefer to keep it simple and stay in the box. I have many digital plugins and nice monitors, but not much in terms of outboard analog gear.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: I bring out the hidden energy within the song and preserve softness and clarity.

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Don't pay too much for something which technology has allowed to become cheaper.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: Punk Rock / Heavy Metal / Americana / Singer Songwriter / Pop / Alternative Country

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: Heavy, yet delicate.
