  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Mix low!

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: Extreme metal including death metal and blackmetal, punk, and rock and roll.

  5. Q: What's your typical work process?

  6. A: I discuss project direction and big picture and budget. I ask the band for a reference track of a band or song they respect for stylistic approach. General turn around is a week.

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: Apollo 16 x 16 analog I/O, HS8 Monitors, Allen and Heath GL2000, Motu 8Pre, Cubase 5, Waves Gold Bundle, various Izotope Plugins Microphones include Neumann TLM103, Sennheiser 421, D6, (2) KSM 109, E600, SM57, Audix i5, e604's, and others

  9. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  10. A: My main influences vary on the musical genre but the engineers who inspired me to record myself are Gordon Raphael and Peter Katis.

  11. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  12. A: I have about a decade of experience in the DIY extreme music scene in Philadelphia, from doing live sound to recording many punk\metal\rock EPs and demos as well as full albums. I own a small project studio in humble South-West Philadelphia. Other genres I have experience with include Pop, Indie, and EDM.
