Hi friend! My name is Anastasis Louka and I studied Music and Sound Technology at University of Portsmouth, UK. I am making music since 16 years old. The last 5 years I started Mixing and Mastering music for other people. From 2015 I’m running my own recording studio (Bad Frequency Studio).   1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I produced, recorded and mastered a few of the top rappers in Cyprus!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I recorded a few local bands the last few months and now I'm mixing their songs.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: No.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both. Mostly digital because it's quicker and sounds amazing and I can do revisions any time.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I give you want you are looking for!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The process from rough mix to final mix!

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: The most common question is when I'm going to finish the song. I always set a deadline depends of the project!

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Some people think mixing is simple and easy. It's not!

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask them what sound the want for their song, and a reference track for any released songs to get a better idea about what they looking for.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Arrangement is everything! Good arrangement leads to good mixing, to good songs!

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My ears, headphones, computer (that's all I need).

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I'm making music for 7 years. I start learning mixing 4 years ago. At this point I gained all the skills I needed to make an amazing sounding record but I will never stop learning.

  26. A: Unique!

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Justin Timberlake, Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chilly Peppers, Adele, Lana Del Ray, Jay Z, Beyonce because they are amazing artists.

  30. A: Layer different drum kits together!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Rock, Metal, Hip Hop, Pop, Folk, Reggae.

  34. A: Mixing and Producing!

  36. A: Life, Energy and Emotions

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Mixing 3-10 days, depends of the project. Mastering 1-2 days, Music Productions 4-6 days.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Its a small recording studio in Cyprus. I got most of my work online for mixing and mastering. I have a Focusrite Clarett 8preX as my main audio interface, Yamaha hs7+sub and M-audio bx5 monitors. I'm mixing in the box but I own a few outboard hardware gear for special 'flavor'.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: CLA, Andrew Scheps, Tony Maserati are my favorite mixing engineers.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I do mixing (and low budget mastering) for a lot of my clients. Also, I'm doing music productions.
