Sigurd Jøhnk-Jensen on SoundBetter

Young & passionate drummer, music producer & composer

i'm a 25 year old passionate musician. I have been touring since i was 17. I have always been playing with people, and for people. It's just what i do, and enjoy most in life. There is no music project that i wouldn't like to work on, since i absolutely love all kinds of music.
Though i mostly play genres like Rock, and metal, but i have an education in jazz / fusion drumming, so i can basically lay down any kind of track in my home studio.

I play in my two own bands:
BLINDSTONE ( danish blues rock ), signed on Grooveyard Records.
CARO ( danish thrash metal ), doing the DIY thing without any labels.

Other than that i play a lot of session gigs inside, and outside of Denmark, and i record in my home studio, which means i can deliver a recorded drum track for you within 24 hours of you sending me the song files.

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

I'm working with him on an indie videogame project. We have not released the game yet but the songs that were provided by him to this project are really nice and they fit the theme of the game in a great way. Also, he made the sound effects for us and made a very good job!

I have played a couple of gigs with Sigurd, and have had the pleasure to have him record the drums for my upcoming EP. I have only good things to say about this guy.

Interview with Sigurd Jøhnk-Jensen

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: Music! Always music. I've been doing music professionally since i was 17.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: Rock, metal, hip hop, pop, orchestral, country, blues.

  5. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  6. A: If i'm drumming i bring a tight groove, with whatever details you want on it. If i'm mixing, i bring a fresh and modern sound, yet staying true to what the song needs.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: This is a typical session for me: Receive the track, listen, write notes, and then i go record. If i'm mixing, i like to listen to raw demos, also very gladly REHEARSAL demos, to get the vibe of the song.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: A big variety of drumkits, cymbals, and snares. I mainly use Logic Pro X for all tasks, with a big variety of plug-ins.
