As a mixing & mastering engineer, I'm all about helping bands and independent artists to realise their dream of releasing original material.
For many of us, releasing our own music is the ultimate goal & It's my job to lend a hand at arguably one of the most crucial stages of the process. With over six years serving as a multi-instrumentalist session musician & a further three years working as a mixer within my local city, it is now my pleasure to be able to help artists achieve their final ambitions in the form of providing a professional, polished, radio ready mixing/mastering service.

Interview with Ricky Smith
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Primarily guitar driven music.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Provide reference material. It gives me an instant idea of what a client is looking for within a final mix/master & can help to cut down timescales.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love that moment when you get to the end of a mix & you just sit back & listen to how far the whole project has come. Its a great sense of achievement for everyone involved.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Kings Of Leon. - They seem to have every base covered. They have the great songs, great guitar tones, a strong rhythm section & the singer with the best voice on the planet.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Perspective. I'm big into songwriting & finding out what the most important part of the song is and what the strongest attributes of a song/recording are. As a multi-instrumentalist I can relate to every aspect and instrument within a traditional band setup.
