I'm a SAMA (South African Music Awards) nominated artist and have been producing for 15 years, have co-produced, remixed and engineered for artists such as Armin van Buuren, Bryan Adams, Johnny Clegg, Paul Oakenfold, Tydi, Max Graham, Goldfish, Markus Schulz, and have released on labels including Armada Music, Perfecto, Universal, and Revealed Recordings.

Interview with Nate Raubenheimer
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work mainly ITB these days having sold off a lot of my outboard. With my tour schedule it pays to be able to go mobile with the studio set up hence most work gets done on my MacBook under Cubase Pro 9.5. My primary tools for mixing consist of Plugin Alliance, Sound Toys, Eventide plugins.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Predominantly mixing and mastering work to help clients add that professional polish to their mixes. I'm also extremely versatile, especially when writing dance music and have completed a number of tracks for clients which have gone on to be signed with major labels. I'm also a sound designer, most recently being commissioned to design presets for Brainworx and Knif Audios synths, Sonic Academy's ANA 2 Synthesizer as well as factory soundbanks for various UVI instruments.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Herman Miller Aeron chair (no seriously, I spend hours sitting in this thing, its literally my favourite piece of 'gear' in the studio), a pair of Genelec 8040a's (I've worked on genius for 16 years and know them inside out), Black Box Designs HG-2 (Makes everything sound fantastic, seriously), my trusty MacBook running Cubase, Sound Toys Echoboy (I think this is the best delay plugin ever made... I use it in every project)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working in the industry as a producer and performing artist since 2002 after completing studies in Audio Engineering. I've toured extensively internationally over the past 16 years and released well over a 100 singles and 4 albums in that time.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I always list BT as one of my biggest influences... not only do I love the music, he's also an extremely talented producer as well as a serious tech head and gear nerd :)
