Music producer and engineer with 20 years of experience working with Mary J Blige and R. Kelly
Tizone is a record producer/beat maker, songwriter, rapper and mixing and mastering engineer from Chicago Illinois now based in the Atlanta Georgia area (Covington/Conyers). He started on the scene as a DJ, when beat juggling, scratching, transforming, and DJ battles were the craze. Tizone became one of the elite DJ’s in Chicago even touring with the Nappy Heads. After the tour Tizone focused on becoming a producer/songwriter. He began to develop his younger brother Lil Bud and they were signed to Keith Sweat under Elektra Records. Slyvia Rhone heard Tizone rap on Lil Bud album and decided they needed to be a group, Lil Bud & Tizone.
Later the group moved to Island Records, where Tizone first credit production work was in 1996 writing and producing “Funky Sounds” on the Don’t Be a Menace to South Central while Drinking Your Juice in the Hood soundtrack. Other credit production work included Co-producing “Chocolate Girl” Keith Sweat (1996), Mixing “It’s On” Mary J Blige ft R. Kelly, Share My World (1997). Lil Bud & Tizone first single “Gonna Let U Know feat. Keith Sweat competed with Michael Jackson and the Nortorious B.I.G for positions on the top three spots on the Billboard charts. Lil Bud and Tizone appeared on Soul Train, Teen Summit and toured with major industry artists.

A: I've been in the music industry over 20 years having 2 major record deals with Warner and Island Records

A: my style varies based on the artist that i'm working with but my drum style sticks out the most

A: I love working with indie artist because i live the feeling of seeing something come from the bottom and rising to the top

A: If a record feels right then 9 times out of 10 then it's right

A: When producing i start with the melody and then build around it with drums and other instruments
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm setup is a mixture of analog and digital gear. My main daw is Cubase Pro 8.5 and Protools with the apollo interface, UAD and Waves Plugins

A: I'm inspired by Dr. Dre, Babyface, Timbaland and Teddy Riley

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Mixing a record for Mary J. Blige and R Kelly called "It's on" that featured on Mary J. Blige "Share My World" album. I went 3 times platinum which is a huge accomplishment

A: Building more music for my catalog
