Hi there, I own a 3 millons views youtube channel, and I am also a professional Viola/Violin player in a symphony orchestra, as a producer reached no5 in UK Club Charts. Classical, Rock, Pop, Blues, Country, Spanish, Bolero, Ballads. I have got professional gear/room for top quality recording. Neumann/Audient/Gibson/Fender/Martin.

Each song has a different developing and producing process, sometimes I work from the scratch, some others you might send me a chord sheet or an score, or just an audio demo. There are many way to do things, in general terms, as much information you give me about your idea the best job I can do for you. I will then send you my feedback and start connecting with you.
Sometimes you may ask me to record a guitar, or a Pop Piano part, or compose a song out of your lyrics already written, some other times we can record Violin/Viola.
Guitar sessions can consist on recording Classical sounding guitar, Latin or Spanish music, country/folk acoustic guitar playing, or electrical rock and pop playing, distorted or clean. I can record your solos or strumming or whatever you need.
Here are some videos in which you can see how I do work, don't hesitate to ask me what ever you need to!

Gustavo did an excellent job for us, once again.
He is an excellent recording engineer for guitar. The sound of both, his electric and acoustic recordings is truly marvelous. I'm not sure if I've ever heard better. I wish acoustic pop on the radio sounded that clean and rich! :) We're really thankful to have found him, here, on SoundBetter.

Gustavo is a highly proficient guitarist. His uncompromising gear selections and thoughtful recording technique complement his talent extremely well. The raw tracks we received sounded outstanding even without processing.

His attitude is just as pleasant as his playing. He was attentive and proactive, asking questions to better understand our needs and exceed our expectations. We are extremely pleased with the results!

It was a great pleasure working with Gustavo! He was able to digest all my complicated instructions and did an absolutely fantastic job for my project. He delivered way more tracks than I asked for, with two different mic positions and including additional adlibs (which I didn't even think of but sounded beautiful and made my piece so much better). Everything he recorded sounds 100% professional. I am extremely happy with the result and so glad I chose him!

Interview with Gustavo Eiriz

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I play the music of my country: argentine tango music. Is not very famous, but is very difficult to play, and i love it. But there is no market of it: here is a video of this project where I am the arranger and guitar player and conductor. I wanted to do a full live band recording in a same room, with a lot of bleed. The way it should be (for me). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba8qtxmET40&ab_channel=GustavoEiriz

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: In my studio, in another platform, in the symphonic orchestra and as a teacher and arranger.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: No, sorry, I am new on this platform.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Precise and quality Digital gear, but with some analog emulation in the effect chains. Especially for Popular music. I like the saturation and subtles compression and wow and flutter of the tape machines for every style except for Classical Music. Nevertheless I deliver my material as clean as possible, unless the client requires some kind of colour.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: To be sincere and true about what I can and like doing and what i dont want and dont like doing.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: In this lasts years i developed a relation with my clients, although i never seen them, i am very far away from them: mostly people from Europa and North America hires my, and i live at the southest country in South America. Nevertheless i remember mostly everyone of them.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: It changes a lot, what people doesnt seem to care is about the quality of microphones and the rooms and what kind of guitar should i play. Mostly people trusts a lot.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Pop keyboard players that want to reproduce a quantized guitar sound play by a keyboard sometimes wants us (guitar players) to be able to hold the notes the same way as if it was a Piano. And when robotic rythms are requested I usually adivce the clients that we are humans. Editings can be made of course.. but you know what i mean.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: Mostly what kind of sound and ideas he or she has got from his song and where he wants to take it.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Please tell the provider as much as you can from your expected sound. Anyone approaches to each song in a different way. And if the provider is not being able to go to that direction hire another. Not everyone plays well Nirvana style and Classical Music.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: I would take a grand piano, a gibson l-5. I wouldnt need much more. :)

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I studied classical guitar when a was a boy, and play the piano for fun. I did have my own recording studio back when i was 14 (1994), i mean.. i had a Tascam portastudio. I began experimenting everyday there. But I have a career made as a professional Violist/Violinist in my town Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am a permanent member of the symphonic orchestra of the 2nd biggest opera house in my country. So I during the days and evening I might play Puccini or Beethoven and at night I play rock and pop on the guitar and the keyboards.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Clean and precise. My recording sound is **on your face**. I practiced a lot miking techniques and my delivered take usually does not need equalization to compensate troubles on the original takes.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: My mentioned artist, some of them are already not here anymore.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Study classical theory. Talent needs effort to be developed.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Rock, Pop, Country, eighties Pop. Classical Music.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: I think that i am a very clean player, on the other side some people could find it cold.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: What i think that the songs need. In no way I am trying to show my virtuosism on it. If fewer notes are required, then well thought fewer notes are played. If simple and straight chords are need we go for it. If we need a more jazzy and complex coloured chords are needed then we use it.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: After hearing the clients idea first, i suggest mines, and after fine tuning it I send demos to the client. So we have an idea of the direction or way to go.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My room is very dead sounding also in low frecuencies (the most difficult to treat) and I work only with Neumann microphones: for cleaner recording I use transformerless TLM-67 and for vocal and more compressed and brigther sounding styles I use the U-87ai. I prefer sending to the client the most clean an impartial sound possible, because it can be tweaked to the direction that the clients wants to from that start. If i already recorded the tracks in a very lively room and with valvular microphones the client can get a more **in your face** sound. And the ambient in the room might not fit with the ambience on the recording. My preamps are very clean: Audient ID-44. I work in Reaper and in a desktop PC. My guitars are Martin D-28 (the most famous acoustical guitar along with Gibson J series), Gibson L-5 (no presentation required) Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster, and Luthier made classical guitar. Also I use a Yamaha Bass with Fender Pickups, it sound great.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Talking about popular music: Queen, Beatles, Elton John, Elvis, mostly classic rock and pop artist.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: My work consist in doing what i think the song needs to achieve its maximal potential. The first thing that i do is communicate with the clients to hear what is his/her original idea about his/her song. I never tried to put my musical personality above the song, unless the customer ask me and gives me that freedom. I usually send demos, to fine tune our expectations. And after that I engage the takes, regarding the idea of the customer about styles, sound, microphone technics. Etc...
