Mixing Engineer with 21 years of experience in mixing and mastering.

In the year 2000, Tiago studied audio engineering in Los Angeles (USA) at Los Angeles Recording School, and also worked in the renowned "Enterprise Studios".

Tiago has Recorded and mixed for artists such as "Pe. Fabio de Melo" (More the 3 million CDs and Top-Selling CD in 2008) "Anjos de Resgate" (more than 500.000 copies sold), Rosa de Saron (Gold DVD), and Alexandre Soul, who received a nomination for the Latin Grammy Awards 2005 for best Christian Album.

At the end of 2004, Tiago Mattos graduated as an Electrical and Electronic Engineer and in 2015 he finished his masters degree in the field of acoustics at the State University of Campinas in Brazil - UNICAMP.

In 2014 Tiago participated in the seminar "With Master Mix" conducted by Chris Lord-Alge at South of France.

In 2017 Tiago participated in the seminar "With Master Mix" conducted by Manny Marroquin South of France.

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: Create music and proportionate good feelings for me and to everyone who will listen my mixes and masters.

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: People are mixing so fast and not worrying about things that we can help. A mix with details takes time.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Make a good song. A good result starts with a good composition, record the instruments as good as you can. Always tune the instruments (every song) before start recording. Use new strings.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: A desert Island has Electricty?

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: 20 years work as a Audio Engineer. First course in 1997, then Los Angeles Recording School in 2000. Eletrical Engineer in 2004. Master Degree in acoustics in 2015 and Mix With the masters in 2014 - Chris Lord-Alge.

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: I never stop studying. I like to try differents ideas in each song.

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Focus in each step. The first one is a good composition.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: Pop, Rock, Gospel, Country

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: I'm mixing hybrid. I use the manley 16x2 for summing, my GML 2030 for parallel compression (DRUMS), voxbox for bass and the SSL XLogic as a buss compressor. Manley Massive Passive is my one my stereo output, just to bring "air" (Hi-Shelf around 5 db) to strings, piano, pads and ac. guitar. For mastering I usually use the GML 2030 for compression and the Massive Passive for EQ and plug ins too.

  19. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  20. A: both. They are different tools.

  21. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  22. A: I'll do my best always

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: Any talent artist. I love music. If the artist is talent, the result is always good.

  27. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  28. A: Mixing and Mastering. I also work as a producer and recording engineer.

Terms Of Service

Rarelly, a client ask me for more than 2 revisions. It happened once or twice in my whole career. I've never charge anybody for extra revision.
