  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Neil Young Archives Volume 1. Ground breaking box set released on Blu-ray, DVD, CD and digital. My role was Associate Producer (Multimedia production), Production Coordinator, Sound Design, Audio Production. Also: The Bridge School Concerts: 25th Anniversary Edition (CD & DVD editions). My role was Co-Producer, Project Coordinator, Recording Engineer.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: changes from day to day. ask me.

  6. A: no

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: "Quality...whether you want it...or not"

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: I get to work with sound and audio every day.

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: there is a misconception?

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: 1- what is the project, the final deliverable and time schedule? 2- any particular issues, problems? Give me direction on what you want. 3- can you send me the song/project to listen to and review?

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Have your project ready to deliver and know what you want done. Be able to communicate your needs and artistic vision, if any.

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: an acoustic guitar, some extra strings.

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: musician->learned sound to mix/ record bands I was in-> built and operated several studio spaces where I honed my craft-> worked on Neil Young projects for 15 years-> freelancer now taking on new clients and projects.

  21. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  22. A: I've been fortunate to work with most of the artists that would be on my bucket list. that's a tough one. For an answer- I'd like to work with an artist who has a great song.

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: always work at the highest audio quality level that you can.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: rock, singer-songwriter, indie, alternative, blues, folk, country.

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: I am a good listener....for both the client and the project.

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: I bring to a song years of experience as a musician and audio production pro, a good ear and set of tools to craft a song. I make a good recording better and can save a project that has sonic problems & challenges.

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: 1-communicate with client to understand their needs and direction. 2-review the project and give feedback to client. 3-do the work 4-submit, review, revisions 5- deliver project as directed by client.

  33. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  34. A: I work in a Mac environment. My main software tools at Adobe Audition and Pro Tools 12. I have multiple systems and the audio interfaces include Metric Halo 2882, Apogee Duet2 and a Focusrite 6i6. My monitoring and listening is exclusively thru Tannoy monitors in multiple rooms.

  35. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  36. A: I'm inspired by artists who strive for high creative values and production professionals who have attention to detail and great sound.

  37. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  38. A: My workload is varied so there isn't anything really common. In general, I spend most of my time making projects sound great thru editing, mixing and mastering in the studio. When not in the studio, I'm providing sound recording for film & video projects and doing field recording.
