A: John Vanderslice, Katie & Allison Crutchfield, Sadie Dupuis, Kevin Shields, Brian Wilson, Dev Hynes.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I typically engineer, mix, and master clients' projects.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring a combination of flexibility and focus to a song. When you work with me, you run the show-- I'm here to make sure things sound as best as they can, and try to make the sound you hear in your head come out in the song. At the same time, if you need advice and support, I'm here for that, too. I can impart my thoughts on what a song needs, no matter what genre or vibe you're going for.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: We record in one or multiple sessions. After the session I go back and mix remotely. I send a mix over to you, and you provide me with notes about what you want to sound differently. I mix again and we continue this process until you're happy with the mix. From there I master.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: It's mobile recording rig-- I come to you, and we record in your space! The Tascam 24-track desk is what we record on (digitally). I have a growing mic locker, including Shure SM-57s and a AKG D112, among others. Then I mix and master in Reaper, because open source software is the best.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: Alanna McCardle, because she is a creative force to be reckoned with.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Use reference songs or albums throughout your project. The idea isn't to create something that sounds exactly like another record, but to have that inspiration on hand at all times to push you forward.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Creating an environment that encourages experimentation and creativity. Also, you're going to get a killer guitar tone when you're with me.
