I am a freelance audio recording and mixing engineer. I graduated from Sound and Audio Institute of Atlanta where I studied under various grammy award winning and nominee engineers such as Justin Seebring and Steve Hibachi. I currently work with a lot of independent artists. I am pay attention to detail and I create magic that is sonically amazing!

Micah Strings has been doing live sound for over 3 years all across the country with Indie artists. He just finished his first international tour with Beyonce on The Formation Tour. Aside from touring across the world doing live sound. Micah has dedicated his life to mixing. His two role models are Stuart White and Phil Tan.

Micah Strings will be a graduate of SAE Institute of Atlanta in on January 17, 2016. In the institute, Micah had an opportunity to be taught by Mike-Will-Made-It, Jim Zumpono, Dave Pensado, and Chris Lord Alge to name a few.

Strings pays close attention to detail allowing him to manipulate every sound to help it reach its sonic potential. Everything in a mix is there for a very crucial reason.

Interview with Micah Strings

  1. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  2. A: I would obviously have my macbook. and MKG condenser microphone, My apollo twin interface, Professional monitors, and a midi Keyboard.

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: I would love to work with Beyonce. Beyonce is one of my favorite artists of all time and I believe I can offer new and exciting projects to her musical career.

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: When producing music, every instrument must fit and you must know why. It is easy to have an idea in your head but it can pose a difficulty when translating that into a daw.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: I typically work on Pop, and Hip-Hop music. However, I have done several orchestral compositions for student films here in Atlanta.

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: My strongest skill is staying on track with what is expected of me when I am given a project.

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: I bring balanced to every song using my musical background. I have been playing the violin, piano, guitar, and bass for a total of fourteen years. I used my experience to get the true sound of every instrument that is on a project.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: I do not have a set work process because every project ask different. However, when I am mixing client's projects, I always start with what the talent essentially wants then outcome of the mix to be. Then I proceed from there.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I currently work out of my schools state of the art studio with multiple acoustic treatments and The SSL board .

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: Stuart White, mixing engineer for Beyonce, Lemonade, and The Pink Print is one of my idols. his theory of equalizing is phenomenal.
