  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I got into remixing in the nineties in San Francisco where I finely tuned my chops at 3rd Floor Productions now Moulton Studios. I had the privilege of working with some of dance and pop music's finest and had several top 10 Billboard dance hits. My vocal style is a result of many years of working as a producer and knowing exactly what is needed to get the job done.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: House, indie dance, electronic, nu disco, down tempo

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: Remixes and vocal production

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: I look for the song within the song and bring all it’s best elements forward.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: For remixes, I start by listening to the original song and form an idea of the direction I want to go. I always start with the kick, build the drums and start placing the vocals. I then start to layer in chords and soundscapes and finally crashes and breaks. Original production is very much the same, only, I don't always have the vocals to work with right away.

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  36. A: The bulk of my work and what I’m known best for is remixing. As a vocalist myself, I really enjoy working with the vocals of a song and finding a new interpretation of the original. I may chop them up or keep them intact or more often, a little of both. Sometimes it’s just a matter of bumping’ up the beat and sometimes a whole new chord structure is developed. I always let the song lead me to the direction I'll take.
