Joshua Tooth

Remote Mixing, Session Drummer

Joshua Tooth on SoundBetter

I am a young music producer/mixing engineer who is currently studying a Bsc Degree in Music Technology, Business and Law. I have nearly 5 years of mixing experience and have worked with many young bands and solo artists.

I am looking for work with new/ambitious artists to help add to my portfolio and to create new relationships in the industry. I am mainly a mixing engineer but I can master too if need be.

I work remotely so no matter where you are in the world I can work with you. I will also work for a cheap price as this is my passion and as I said I am adding to my portfolio.

Interview with Joshua Tooth

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: Bassy. I love to bring out the bass in a track and then work my way up to the treble. I find it gives the track more feeling.

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: Listen to every piece of music you can, every genre. You don't know what flavours you can put together to create a new dish until you try them all.

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: I usually work with Singer-song writers and Indie/Rock bands but I've worked on many projects including film and animation sound.

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: My strongest skill is bringing the best out of vocals and drum recordings. Being a drummer and vocalist I know what I like which others normally agree with. Most of the time.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I bring a new outlook, I like to listen to a song out of context to its genre see what twists and other flavours we can add. This sometimes creates something really unique and new.

  11. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  12. A: I once met Ken Scott at university. He did a lecture on working with The Beatles and producing David Bowie. He is a really inspirational person.

  13. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  14. A: I mostly mix music after the recording process has already been done, I do this remotely so I never normally meet my clients.
