Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: New Acoustic Looper with Hip Hop sentimentalities in his Lyrics. Real humble & casual with the topics so many will appreciate in their own lives. But also a wikid Label thats got no boundaries in the genres im lovin in my ears! Great times really!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Mixing & mastering for 3 acts & 1 record label in Hip Hop,Glitch Hop, Acoustic Hip Hop & House while producing Reggae & Bass music for 2 other acts & then my own stuff..
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not yet
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Best of both! It would be foolish not to as long as youve got the background in Analog to back it up. Something that is missing in the last 20 years of industry direction of newcomers

A: Its a Madd House in here!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Workin with the sounds of people expressing themselves in the most passionate & expressive way. Its a real privilege to encourage & tighten up their sound

A: whats your price... ;) its a great way of thinning out the serious artists from the bottom feeders. ;) no offense, it really helps me not charge too much cos my schedule is months out already..
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: They say mixing & everyone wants to see them behind the turntables.. lol They ok there too dont you worry, just prefer helpng people with original music!

A: Learn from experience thats willing to teach & the get catapulted into your industry the way you want to.

A: Aside of the essential Solar panels, Batteries & Inverter my list wld be..MPC, Auratone Cubes, Rode NT-1 Kaoss Pad & Melodica..
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Keys, Drums, Bass, Vinyl, before 15, Turntablism, mixing live before 18. Dip Audio Eng & Production inc 1 reggae band before 21. Studio owner & live recording leader by 30. Full time industry service specialist before 40. Current age 43... still cracks me up im this old LOL

A: Intuitive really.. Backed by an all Analog upbringing & skills invested wisely

A: Seriously.. if i said 1 i would have to say many! but they gotta get back to mixing as you kno..
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: dont look at the screen...
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip Hop, Reggae, EDM genres including but not limited to Glitch Hop, Dub Step, D&B & House amongst others
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Holistic industry knowledge & impeccable ears but most of all family!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Mostly everything for my own productions but for their clients they bring a place & time over history for them to relate to whilst staying true to their intentions. Working with the Asylum is a unique experience, so very relaxed & so very big picture. The nearly 30 years of sound has taught this guy more that it sounds like.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: If theyre producing for someone with material we bring the track together with each other & our sound. If theyre writing from scratch ill usually kind some keys or drop a beat on the MPC's thinkin of a few lyrics that ive begun for them.. When its mixing acts music its all Analog summing before we go anywhere.. But after all of the above we dig into a finite mix of detail to deliver the warm timeless sound the Asylum is renowned for
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: With Midi as its foundation, a range of modern classics in electronic & analog signals comprise of the production side of things (Moog, MPC's, Nord, Yamaha, Novation). Few analog effects from Lexicon, Roland & Korg thrown in for good measure. They go into Midas pre's for Harrisons Mixbus & the full Sweat of UAD with 10 cores to mix (previously Pro Tools & Logic but still available) That mix comes out of Auratone Cubes, Event Opals & a JBL 8K PA. External Pre's, Compressors & Eq's available to track thru or bus to for their roles.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: From producing all music & lyrical content, recording to pre master mixing & live sound, occasional mastering to vinyl & other formats the Asylum has created a very casual approach to covering many sides of this industry.
