Hi, I'm Andrea and I have been working in music industry since 2007. I began working in audio services as backliner and sound engineer assistant, then as producer in several music festivals. In 2012 I started the project of a recording studio on my own and since then I have been working as recording engineer, mixing engineer and producer.

I like working in a relaxed and positive environment. I really love to take musicians attitude when I mix, because I believe that gives authenticity to the outcome of the work. For this, every step of my work is meant to get the best result for both parts. I prefer aggressive musical genres and all the derivations of rock, but I like mixing genres far different from mine too, like pop, hip hop, electronic music.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: mixing it's not math, it's science and art, the best weapon we can choice it's our notions, our experience, emotion and personal taste
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my strongest skill is being able to understand the point of view of the clients and make it work in their songs: i graduated in psychology and i find it really useful in this world.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To obtain the best results at the right price, working in perfect harmony
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are the genres and the artists that inspire you the most? Why? What do you expect from your songs? What do you want from your songs?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started recording my band in our garage with a 4 track tape recorder in 2000. In these 15 years i have been studying and playing a lot of music in every form. In 2010 i founded Slam Studio to transform my passion into work, and it's the best thing i ever did.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually i work on energetic music such as stoner rock, hard rock and all derivations of the rock genre. But i love to work on all kind of genres because i find it challenging to bring every production to a happy end.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Emotion, movement, and all the things a song needs to have a distinct character and great sounds.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I love to work beside the client with continuous feedback, i think the musical vision of the composer is the best inspiration to make a great and original mix.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is digital based, i have a universal audio apollo 16 with a lot of uad plugins. I really love the analog and warm texture of uad products. The room i mix in has a really good acoustic treatment, the adam and krk monitors sound really cool in this environment and mix and mastering translate pretty well on all audio systems. Anyway, i think that gear is not that important: the most important thing is what people hear and see in a particular song or idea with a musical conscience.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I really like aggressive old school and mix and work finding the best results for the song. I love all hard intention music but the most important thing is that i love to work with good musicians and people sharing good vibrations.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I work a lot as a producer and mixing engineer, doing my best to add original and personal sounds in everything I work on.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A mac computer with pro tools, 4 microphones, 4 good pre, and a good room with good monitors.
