Originally from Perth, Australia. Live Sound Engineer since 2000. Professional Musician (Guitar/Bass) since 2005. Protool® competency, and I've also spent some time studying Studio Engineering with Analog Tape Recorders at Electrical Audio, in Chicago, USA. My skills with fretted instruments also extends into Lutherie/Live Stage Technician.

Available for Live & Studio work as a Musician or Engineer. No job too small or too large...

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: My skill-set.

  3. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  4. A: A guitar, guitar amp, interface, microphone, and headphones... and cables, capo, accessories, etc.

  5. Q: What's your typical work process?

  6. A: Listen to what the client wants, and maybe offer suggestions that may help with the workflow. Put down what I feel works, and do some revisions until the results are good.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: The relationships.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: A very simple setup of Macbook Pro, Apogee Quartet, and a bunch of quality mics, cables, effects, etc.

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: I'm inspired by people in all fields. As a performer/writer: Warren Haynes, Paul McCartney. As a live engineer: Dave Natale, Paul Boothroyd. As a studio engineer: Steve Albini, Andy Wallace. As a luthier: Jim Olson, Kenji Okumura. just to name a couple from each field.

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: It varies from time to time. Most of my work over the last few years have been performing and recording. Recently I've been involved in more live mixing.
