D. James Tagg (Jamie) is passionate about presenting spatial realism in recordings. Whether it be the perfect capture and a true-to-period presentation of a live classical performance, or constructing depth and space in a jazz or pop mix, the artist is always featured in the best possible musical space and aesthetic.

Having helped clients achieve and maintain high quality recordings for over 15 years, Jamie has engineered three GRAMMY®-nominated albums, won several internationally competitive production competitions, and has worked across the United States and Canada.

After two decades of singing an playing classical and jazz saxophones, Jamie received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami in music engineering (studio music and jazz guitar principal), a master’s in sound recording from UMass Lowell, and studied engineering/production with Martha de Francisco and George Massenburg at McGill University in Montréal, Quebec, Canada.

Jamie has recorded and produced recordings released through NAXOS International, Sono Luminus, Albany Records, and SFM Inc., among others, with proven sales including Top 10s on Billboard, iTunes, and Amazon charts.

Terms Of Service

I am happy to work on location, in a studio, or remotely, and work at home for mixing, sending proofs with 1-2 (typically) revisions. Turn around time is a few days unless I'm out on location.
