Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I just released a project titled "Mother and Wife." It is a hiphop soul project. I am proud because I created a marketing campaign for the project and it was effective. Also, one of the songs on the project I did completely by myself- with the exception of the drum beat.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: Currently, I am finishing up personal projects.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: I don't know anyone on here.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: I've never really thought about this.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: I promise to put my all into your project. I promise to be honest with you about the project. I promise to get your project done!

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I enjoy creating.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: If I can provide powerhouse vocals- yes.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: I was once asked if I was copying and pasting vocals instead of singing them all the way through- that is not something that I do unless we discuss it.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: What is your ultimate goal for the project? Do you intend to list me as the vocalist- and if so- can I hear the finished product? I may not want to be listed.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Clear communication is key.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: A pen, notebook paper, a piano, a portable recorder, and a mic to hook into the recorder.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: Initially ,I wanted a career in the music industry. For the last few years, I have received work as a session singer and songwriter. I am currently in Graduate School seeking a career in marketing. I want to create music because I enjoy it and it is fun.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: My style is a mixture of things. I love soulful sounds, I love piano based music, I love guitar based music, I also love the big band sound. Also, I enjoy hip hop- more of the 90s/2000 era.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: That's a good question. I'd like to write a classic song for Beyonce.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: It is okay to pass on a song- especially if its out of your range or if you do ot agree with the message. Not every song is for every singer.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: I have worked on all type of music. I grew up listening to and singing Gospel, Soul, and R&B. I also grew up listening to Hiphop.Then I started singing more Blues and Rock songs. Eventually, I was intoduced to House music.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My strongest skills are writting and the dynamics of my voice.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I provided energy, originallity, and powerhouse vocals. I also have a distinct sound.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: Typically, I receive a work order, I listen to and see if it is a good fit for my voice/ writing skills- if it something that I believe that I can do. I accept or decline the work offer. If I accept, I start working on it. I send the buyer a demo. If the buyer believes the demo will work, we proceed.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: My studio set up is simple. It is strategically placed in a room in my home. My gear came from Guitar Center.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: My top female singers are Mahalia Jackson, Whitney Houston, Nina Sinone, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Yolonda Adams, and Celine Dion. I am also inspired by Dolly Parton and Kandi Burris.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I provide vocals and write lyrics for the song.
