SoundWaves was constructed in 2009 and resides on the 2nd floor of my home in Gilbert, Arizona. The reason I chose to create a small home studio was my firm belief that most musical artists can't afford to go to a large recording facility. Additionally, advances in technology have allowed us to charge less than big studios charg,e and achieve the same professional results.

Jim's bio:
James began guitar at the age of 4, has had operatic and speech level training, and taught guitar and voice lessons privately as well as publicly at Axis Music Academy in Michigan. James currently has four records available on iTunes which have sold in the United States, Canada, Europe, Russia, the Former Soviet Union, Scandinavia, China, Australia and Japan. James has been featured multiple times showcasing his guitar talent on Good Morning Arizona, and has had his song What I’m Living For played on KXAM and selected for a finalist in the VH1 song of the year competition in 2004. James has performed at over 40 reputable locations in the valley, opened for Peter Frampton in CA, was acclaimed by Wayne Newton as a “class act” and immediately invited to Las Vegas to perform. Additionally, James was the sole performance act of the pre-Superbowl party for the New York Giants in 2008. Since then his focus and passion have turned to becoming an acclaimed recording entrepreneuer, and audio reviewer.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Chris Lord-Alge and Tony Maserati are definitely two top engineers I respect. I also love Rush, and music that is deep but also intriguing. Sounds that others haven't heard before. But to be honest, its hard to nail down because I love the fact that music can capture a little bit of everyone's soul, and diversity is a beautiful thing.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing is the most popular. I have a lot of remote clients from San Francisco, Wisconsin, and the East Coast, so when I don't have bands in recording, I usually get mix work.
