Anthony was extremely easy to work with and blew me away with his first edit of the song! He can make records come to life with his production and truly cares about getting the final result that the artist is after.

Anthony Saunders is one of the most INCREDIBLE singers, songwriters, producers....etc, just multi-talented. His ability to adapt to each and every voice never ceases to amaze me. He's completely intrinsic and mesmerizing. I have worked with several producers in my life, but never have I EVER seen the likes of someone so creative. Everything is done with precision and nothing short of excellent quality. I am always satisfied when I work with someone who is as wonderfully talented as he is. Thank you Anthony for always being top notch in quality, work ethics and creativity!

Interview with Anthony Saunders

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I am especially proud of the work I did with Janet Jackson. To have an artist of her caliber call you and want to work with you is a dream come true. I consider it a blessing to have done so and feel very fortunate.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am currently working on my own album and working with a few artist I can't currently mention.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not yet.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both! All of these things bring a different sound that from a sonic's standpoint is needed.-

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to treat your music like I treat my own. The love I have for music as well as my music is undying. I will treat it with respect and dignity. I won't fail you!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love the fact that I am blessed enough to make music daily.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: The question I get all the time is do you think this is good enough. I tell them every idea is great..It may need a little shaping and some color. But no idea musically is a bad one.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception is can this one person really sing, write, play and produce this all on his own. And the answer is YES!!

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: My biggest question that I ask a client is what do you see for this music or piece we are working on. Also, when its done what do you hope to accomplish with it. I ask them these questions to set the tone of where we will go next.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice would be that in all things, lets be creative. give me everything you want for your vision and I will make it happen.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Fender Rhodes, MiniMoog, Computer, monitors , Mic w Cable

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: One tip I would share in music production is to stay on top of whats happening today and keep studying the past. You can't go forward without the right tools and you can't create change if you don't know where things were prior to now.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I work on all forms of music all the time. Today could be a pop song, tomorrow could be a folk song. Hiphop today and EDM tomorrow. I try to keep my palate open and in tune to all things

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is listening to the client and putting myself in their world. I try to see things through their eyes and ears to reach their goal.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring my A game to music every time! I try to take all of the knowledge and experience I have gathered over the years and breathe life into the clients vision just a s they see it.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: My process is pretty simple. When working on a project I like to ask as many questions as possible to accomplish what my client its looking for. With this method I find it pretty easy to get down to the meat of what is need and strike exactly the way I should to get the job done. Doesn't mean we hit the mark all the time but I like to get close!

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have a modest setup in my home. I spent alot of time in LA and collected so much gear. I have a Fender Rhodes Mark II 88 Key, Korg MS-20 & MS-2000, Roland Vdrum Set, Roland JDXI, Roland Gaia, Yamaha CP-70, and a Roland JUNO -60. 41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I am inspired by so many people! My musical palate is vast ranging from Henry Mancini to Quincy Jones, Bach to Prince, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Miles Davis, You name it if it has to do with music I am on it!

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: When it comes to music and the studio I am a jack of all trades. If a vocalist is need I am ready, If a songwriter is need I am ready, if a musician is needed I am ready. Producing full songs if my life and I'm ready at all times!
