Yoav Efron on SoundBetter

Hey! My name is Yoav and I've been writing, composing, playing and producing professionally for many years now. I've recorded and programmed keyboards, produced and arranged songs for bands and solo artists and I'm also a huge audio nerd. If you're looking for unique sounding keys, production, writing and/or anything in between, give me a call!

I love to work, create and being creative; Starting with my own two projects: the progressive metal band "Distorted Harmony" and the eclectic Prog/Core project "ARP", I've also played for and worked with several local pro artists. From a simple synth/keyboard line to a full arrangement or a simple musical idea/composition to a complete production - That's what I live for.

My never ending journey to expand my knowledge, understanding and love of music started with classical and jazz piano, continued through my film scoring and composition studies in Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music here in Israel and quite frankly - never stopped.

Thanks for being here, can't wait to work with you!

Interview with Yoav Efron

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My project ARP's EP, particularly the song - "Gone (not here)". It's too personal to explain why but I guess it will always be one of my proudest creations. My role was basically everything but playing Drums and Guitars.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: New music for both bands/projects and musical collaborations with a few mates and colleagues.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Unfortunately, currently no.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital because of cables and awesome things you just can't do in Analog.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I'm here for you, what ever you need and I can help you with.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Q: "Can you make it sound like XXXX?" A:"I can Indeed" Q: "Why are you sweating so much?" A: "It's hot in here"

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Why would there be any misconception?

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What can *I* do for you (as in - why do you need ME specifically). Style, Vibe and Genre (including references). Delivery time (deadline) and budget.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Ask, just ask. If there's something you need, want or simply don't understand all you need to do is ask.

  22. A: Logic Pro X, M-Audio Keystation 61, beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO, Sylenth and the best iMac pro which I will never be able to afford otherwise!

Formed the Progressive Metal band 'Distorted Harmony' in 2009 (produced and released 3 studio albums) and the Prog/Core project 'ARP' in 2015.
