Interview with ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,-.,.--

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: A balanced combination of both. One step in future, one eye on the past. Basically, take the best of both worlds and use it to your advantage.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: That I will always give every song the exact same care and attention as my first. Producing quality music is something I am extraordinarily passionate about and believe in whole heartedly. At the end of the day, all I want is for you to be completely satisfied with how your music sounds and to help you make that happen.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: Having been a musician for the last 20 years, I have always taken an interest in music production and learned about it where ever or whenever I could. It wasn't until about two years ago however, that I was finally able to get all of the equipment necessary to work on audio engineering full-time really develop my craft. Now currently, I am furthering my education and in my second year of a Sound Production Degree through the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and employ other students from the program as interns in my studio to help with editing and other tasks.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: Colorful and polished with the warm and professional sound that people are expecting to hear in todays modern music.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: Whenever possible, start at the source. Getting the recordings right will always have the greatest impact on your music. Other than that, start all of your mixes in mono and use subtractive EQ before ever deciding to boost any other frequencies.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: WPA hosts a very modest setup, running everything through a quad core Mac Mini, with two KRK Rokit 5's monitors, a KRK 10sub, and Pro Tools 12. Additionally, I use a Focusrite Saffire PRO40 chained to a Focusrite Octopre MKII as the main audio interface, along with an AVID Eleven Rack for "direct in" guitars and bass or re-amping purposes.

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Since you're probably recording things on your own, take your time and make them sound as best as you possibly can. You'll be much more satisfied and proud of your work if you do.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: Much of my inspiration comes from audio professionals like Chris Lord Alge, Mike Senior, and Paul Tingen.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: Most often I find myself working for musicians who record their music at home, but need professional help when it comes to mixing and mastering.

  19. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  20. A: Being inspired by artist from all over the world and getting to work with music every day.
