  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: ska jazz album, reggae album with jamaican legends, roots dub album, 70's soul rock album

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: your project won't sound like others...in a good sens

  5. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  6. A: thinking I only push buttons, people thinking i can give them all analog and wanting all the facilities of an all digital session (editing and other cheating)

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: what is your main goal artistically, do you want to conform to business codes or are you ready for some experimentation

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: to be able to find ideas to make what the musicians want without forgetting the main goal defined with the band before the session,

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: vintage color, big fat drum & bass sound, sens of economy when needed, psychedelic soundscape when wanted

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: reggae, dub, soul, 70's rock, funk, west african music, ska, jazz, blues

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: transfer to tape for mixing (if possible from the recording), go back to computer after mix

  17. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  18. A: analog to death, digital if you want but only because it's your project

  19. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  20. A: meeting different people, helping musicians to understand and improve their sound, almost each week is another new project

  21. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  22. A: can you work fast, good and for almost nothing . my answer. I can do two of the 3 propositions, give me your choice

  23. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  24. A: take time to listening to the sound coming from the studio, more than one song from one album

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  26. A: fender stratocaster, tape echo, spring reverb, hand drum, microphone

  27. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  28. A: learn directly in concert and studio, first album mix 10 years ago

  29. Q: How would you describe your style?

  30. A: effective and original at the same time

  31. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  32. A: too much to name, maybe the next Jimi Hendrix or Lee Perry if someone know him

  33. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  34. A: record as many musicians as possible playing together on tape

  35. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  36. A: Full analog with 3 tape recorders (16, 8 and 2 tracks) + 40 channels mixer + 24 in/out digital station, all analog hardware, almost no plugins

  37. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  38. A: King Tubby, Lee Perry, Stax label, Roots, Soul and experimental music of the 20 th century

  39. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  40. A: recording full album or only mixing, sometimes some mastering and a lot of dubbing (old school remix)
