MadSamStudios on SoundBetter

Your music. Better. The online audio mixing service for independent artists & producers.

The team at MadSam Studios thrives on developing one on one relationships with passionate artists & producers to help them get the best out of their music. We don’t have any Grammy awards or a long list of major label credits… yet. We’re not going to try and convince you that we are something we’re not. What we are is a dedicated team of professionals with a deep passion for music and a commitment to excellence that can help you achieve amazing results whatever your audio mixing or recording needs may be. We happen to think we’re pretty good at what we do, but we’ll let you be the judge of that. Listen to some examples of our work and then schedule your online audio mixing or recording session today. We’ll prove to you that we can help you achieve major label results at rates independent artists and producers can afford.

Interview with MadSamStudios

  1. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  2. A: Know what you want before looking for a professional. The more concrete your direction, the better we can help : )

  3. Q: How would you describe your style?

  4. A: Strong, clear and full.

  5. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  6. A: We don't care if you are selling millions of records a year or 1 record, we want to work with artists that care about the music over the success.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: The better your tracks (meaning clean edits, strong takes, orderly sessions) the better our results. The mix can only be as good as the performance.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: Everything. We don't discriminate with styles. We buy into artists before the style.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: Technical types struggle with the relationship side of the business. We feel that is our strong suit. This is more of a relationship business than a technical one. Our clients feel that we want what's best FOR them and not FROM them.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: We want the mix to be a backseat to the song. If people get lost in your music and aren't so focused on the mix, then we call that a job well done.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: We have a unique setup where we provide an artist liaison to find out exactly what the producer or artist is looking for before we start into the project. We want to make sure we are heading into your project knowing we are just as bought into your work as you are. From there, we'll ask for references to what you want the work to sonically sound like so we are all on the same page. We are firm believers that the stronger the communication we have between clients, the better the project comes out.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: We love gear as much as the next person. However, we are firm believers that it’s not so much the tools that you have, but rather it’s how you use them. The tools help, but we place far more value on skills and experience. We would love to bring our professional recording and mixing services to you no matter where you are in the world.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: Our work ranges from mixes for short film, voiceovers to mixes for independent artists and producers.
