I am audio engineer with 15+years experience in recording, mixing. I am also session / live drummer with tour experience. Most of my initial experience was on post production studios and live, but after some years now I can really focus on my music recording studio which is my passion.

I have a full studio for recording, mixing and mastering in Malaga, Spain. in addition to the studio gear I can offer great backline instruments for session recordings. The studio rooms have been treated with very high quality materials by best acoustic analysis professionals in the city.

I am using Cubase Pro 11 as my main system , but I also have ProTools 12 with Antelope interfaces, and a vast variety of plugins from the best companies.

When I work with an artist, I usually like to carefully listen to the songs and identify the best features from the artists and the song itself. I love to hear also any ideas about the direction of the mix, maybe with an audio example from another artist, just to make sure we are in the same page. A rough mix is not necessary but welcome, but a few reference mixes are mandatory. It saves time and it is easier to show the direction when you have something to compare.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I recorded a full album during the pandemic lockdown, tracked drums and more instruments, mixed it and mastered. That album got me into the band as the drummer.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: More rock and heavy mixes on the way!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog for tracking for sure. For mixing sometimes all digital, sometimes hybrid. I find the colour and excitement you can get from tracking with analog is hard to replicate in digital. Once everything is inside the daw, most of the times plugins do the job perfectly fine. I use hardware sometimes but only if I am looking for that specific colour, etc
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You will be proud of your music!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you....? Yes! :-)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I guess the biggest misconception is people think you need huge amounts of gear and fancy stuff to mix a great record. Truth is knowledge and experience is all you need.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Well, my first thing to ask is What kind of project they are after and what is the budget for it. Asuming I already listened to previous music they have released, etc.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Best music always has many great ears that approve every step. Have a conversation with me, your music can only get better if we work together!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: u47, 1176, kii three, ST2 and BAE 1073.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started in a post production studio and doing some live shows, but moved to my own music studio as soon as I could and started recording local bands.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: In production what I normally bring is order. I find most of my clients struggle with structure and dynamic movements in songs. As for mixing I try to bring life and excitement to all my tracks!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use channel strips from Heritage Audio, SSL 4000, preamps from Chandler, API, HA, BLA Bluey, Wes ngBus Compressor, Trinnov ST2 Pro, Amphion speakers and Antelope interfaces.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: You, because you rock!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: All these years of playing, listening very carefully and mixing songs granted me the ability to plan in advance and make sure what will and what won't work for the final mix.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The challenging and creativity parts. I used to work on post production studios but this work was too repetitive and not inspiring at all. Music is my passion.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Whenever I play drums, guitars or any other instrument or I mix, I always try to be very clean and accurate so that the listener can feel the music as clear as possible.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you are using one process and hear a big difference, it's already too much. Everything in music, music production is based on small layers of detail. Know where and when to process is probably the hardest thing to master.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: From Pop/Rock to Heavy/Progressive Metal.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen to the song and think about what it says to me. When I have a clear picture of where I want to go with the production, I speak to the artist and together we get the best possible results.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Everyone! I try to learn as much as I can from everyone. This business is so wide and full of people to learn from and get inspired.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I generally do drum tracks, production and mixing. People bring me a small demo or ideas to work on and improve it together.
