Interview with Parkinson Productions

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I spend part of my time as a member of a band which combines extreme metal elements (metalcore, deathcore...) and electronic music of all sorts. Our latest song is self titled and its called "By Will Alone". Im very proud of this project because we managed to combine so much elements of different music we love and we made it good ! I think it was the first time i felt i did something that nobody did before.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: - Future bass project - Dubstep project - Remixing a R&B song - Produce, mix and master for a deathmetal band - Producing music for a hip hop artist\singer.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital. I'm used to it and i get the best results that way.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: High quality work, comfortable pricing and respect for what the artists *needs and *wants.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Every time i get to work on a project, i always get to learn something that will be useful to me in the project.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: What would be the cost of this job ? My answer is always : I'm sure we can find a middle ground where both sides feel comfortable.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: Many people think that there is only way a song can sound good, i don't.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: What are you looking for ? What is your budget ? Do you want me to go in certain path or should i "free hand" it ?

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Listen to my works, try to figure out if it has what you are looking for and if it fits you budget.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: Laptop, monitors, audio interface, chair and a desk.

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I'm a music producer and sound engineer for 5 years now.

  24. A: Modern and innovative

  26. A: I would like to work with artists who are professional, who respect my opinion and my job.

  28. A: Figure out what you want to achieve, do your best to achieve it.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: Rock, Metal, electronic music and hip-hop

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: Making music sound the best it can.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: My personal sound and high quality product.

  36. A: - i talk to the client and trying to figure out what he needs - i come to an agree with the client about the working terms - i do the job - i let the client review the job - i revisit the job if needed

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: I have access to various setups, i use them differently every time to fit the job best.

  39. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  40. A: I'm mostly inspired by the music i love, music from all of over the spectrum of genres and styles.

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: I produce music for artists (especially, but not only, for singers) I mix and master music.
