  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Jungle Fires : Bliss Point EP Wrote the songs, co-produced, very happy with the result.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Working on my solo project. Wrote some awesome songs. Laying them down. Letting the world hear soon.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Robert Natale

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both for different reasons and it really depends what sound/vibe you're going for. I'm a big believer that digital is around because our world needs it now. There's so much information being thrown our way all the time and things are ever-evolving and ever-changing, so rapidly that our music and what we make needs to live up to that flexible growth. Digital music can be edited, chopped, looped etc with several clicks of a mouse. Analog is sacred. Analog methods are of course, the first way humans have ever laid down music to print. It requires excellent musicianship and a great deal of rehearsal. I have so much respect for analog. As far as gear goes, analog is incredibly organic, very affective, and very much in tune with our natural 'human error'.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Freedom of expression!

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: I'm often asked "what's your real job?" and I say, "no really... music is my job. It's how I make my living!"

  15. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  16. A: UA Apollo Twin Neumann TLM 102 for its versatility Pop Filter Fender Telecaster My old Acoustic

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: Started out as a child actor/singer in the musical theater world of NYC, at 13, I decided that the guitar was a cool instrument, and started getting into songwriters and folk music. at 18, I attended Berklee College of Music where I began to experiment in many genres including jazz, soul, pop, world music, really everything. Now I live in Brooklyn, write songs with that same guitar, record on a better one, and am incredibly active in the city's gig circuit.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: Thom Yorke. I'm so in love with the projects that Thom has been involved in. From his vocal stylings to his songwriting, to his ever-evolving production styles, to his fearlessness, and to his honesty. He can do anything. He poops gold. Kendrick Lamar --also because he is fearless, honest, and changing the world.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: DETAILS.

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: Pop

  25. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  26. A: Versitality

  27. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  28. A: I'm incredibly detail oriented. When a song is brought to me, I work to bring out the potential of the music through delivery.

  29. Q: What's your typical work process?

  30. A: If the work is to record vocals, I'll plug in, and sing in many different colors and tone styles until I'm satisfied with several. I pick my top choices and send them off to the producer to decide what he/she likes best -- weather it's slightly more breathy, more soulful, more rounded, more straight, less swung, etc. I treat the voice like an instrument, and tone/timbre means a lot. If this is a collaborative writing work, i.e. topline over an EDM track, I like to consider what the producer's message in a song is. I'll conjure up several lines that I feel fit, record demos, and send them back. Once one is chosen, tweaked, edited, I'll record a final vocal.

  31. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  32. A: Sound treated room with a vocal booth, Interfaces: Universal Audio Apollo Twin Apogee Duet Microphones: Peluso U87 Replica Neumann TLM102

  33. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  34. A: Collaborative musicians inspire me. I love people who love working with other people. I've been compared in vocal styling to Kimbra, and that's not the worst thing. She collaborates with everyone and it's super cool. I'm totally inspired by Kendrick Lamar, who manage

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  36. A: Vocals for top-line, demos, jingles in all styles

  37. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  38. A: I ask what the goals are. I ask what prospective clients' plans are with the music. How the music will be released. Independently? With a label?

  39. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  40. A: Go for it. I'll give you what you want. Musically.
