Mark Williams (Professional Sound Engineer) Providing the highest quality E-Mixing and E-Mastering services

I recently opened my own studio and am looking for new artists for my resume which is why I am offering my services for such a low price. For over 5 years I have worked as an "Assistant Sound Engineer" under some of the best sound engineers but now I am trying to make a name for my self. Most of the time it was just me and the artist working on the song and the results were always top notch and many times they came back asking for me. I've been providing professional quality songs for artists for years and I strive to make every song I work on sound better than my last. I think some Sound Engineers forget that music is art and just treat it like a science but I want you to know I am just as much a musician as an engineer and during my down time I'm making my own music so I know sound design, composition, music theory and psycho-acoustics from the inside out. I also know how hard you've worked to get your song to sound how it does so I make sure at every step that I am only improving on what you want it to sound like and never imparting my own creative spin on it (unless you request me too). That's why I give you my personal cell phone number and email so we can treat this process as a very collaborative one as well as to make sure that I am always seeing eye-to-eye with you and we stay on the same page when it comes to exactly how you want the song to sound.

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Mark Williams

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I'm trying to expand my own personal resume and compile a new list of return clients for my studio. Aside from that i spend most of my time making my own music.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Lame answer but both... there's no doubt some analogue gear can impart a certain warmth or color to a sound that you cant get with plugins but there are also so many scenarios in which software offers so much more freedom and accessibility which i love.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I promise that i put my all into the service you request of me, i will treat your song as if it were my own by trying to get the very best sound from it and never settle for anything less than the best

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: Hearing a bunch of new music everyday is the coolest thing in the world and to get paid for it is that much better, I love being exposed to different talented artists i might not have otherwise heard of

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: A huge misconception is that mixers just throw up a couple compressors and eq's and the jobs finished and that you can master your own music by simply throwing on a nice limiter and call it a day, its insulting to actually skilled audio engineers of all levels and makes the service look like a joke.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Don't be afraid of the low end frequency range... so many people are taught to "cut everything under 100 Hz" which they then do to every track not knowing there is a lot of life down there and and many sounds/instruments need that range to provide warmth and realism

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: I work on Hip-Hop, trap, RnB, and beat-scene music the most but i also specialize in Dub-step, EDM, Techno, and House

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: I think having the experience to listen to a song and identify what needs to be changed is a crucial skill to have in this industry and knowing how to make those changes is even more important. I think those are two strong-points i posses

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: I pride myself on keeping true to the original intent and vision of the musician. That means at every level i am only improving what the artist has done and never changing the overall vibe or imparting my own creative spin on it, however if they ask me to i jump on the opportunity because it gives me a chance to be creative and semi-collaborative with the artist on a different level.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: I provide E-Mastering and E-Mixing services in which i recieve the necesary stem files via e-mail and communicate with the artist by phone. this cuts down on time wasted commuting, conflicting schedules when making an consultation appointment and most of all the cost of renting studio time is greatly reduced so i am able to pass those savings on to the client.

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: I would say only hire an individual who communicates well and truly has making good music their first priority. It also helps if their a fan of the genre music you make....Don't hire me for Country music lol

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: Tube-tech CL1b (in my opinion the sweetest optical compressor I use it on almost every vocal). Vintage Neve 1073 mic pre/EQ which i run sterile sounding soft-synths/Bass tracks through for that neve warmth and my 2TB external hard-drive with over $10,000 worth of plugins because i am very obsessed with software and how its developed over the years. I wouldn't take 5 pieces i think people get trigger happy when it comes to buying more and more gear for their studio, most of the time they end up only actually using about half of what they own

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: I was an "Assistant Sound Engineer" for over 5 years studying under in my opinion the best Sound Engineers in the business and have finally started my own studio which I am very excited about. I'm also very much a musician as i am an engineer so im working on my debut album at the moment too.
