I have been in collaboration with Baran since the day we met (7 years) - both on stage and in the studio; and can safely say that he will excel at any task within a live, recording or mixing environment. He has mixed my album and various singles to their fullest potential, and I have seen him perform to the same standard in many other projects in countless recording scenarios and various styles and live shows including several massive festivals under pressure. He has fantastic ears for mixing and a great understanding of arrangement. Can mix perfectly in the box and work wonders in the studio!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I've just finished mixing few song for an artist here in Istanbul.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Both. Key is to know which one do you really need for the task at hand.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I'll make everything I can to make you happy and proud about what you have created. I understand the responsibility.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: I love that its always a challenge, and it always gives you back the most honest answers about yourself or your state at that given moment.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: Communication and trust is the key for any kind of success in a team work. If you don't have those or willing to establish, please don't contact me.

  13. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  14. A: U47, neve 1073, summit audio TLA-100, Tube Tech Cl1b and any revision of an urei1176

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: I started as a drummer and studied music. Recording came into my life as a side effect of being a drummer first, because I always needed rooms with isolation to practice :) I've been recording and mixing for 12 years now.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: I would love to work with any artist who has a strong passion about music. Who understands how tough this is and still willing to go all the way.

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: Try not to layer stuff to make them sound better. If you can get away with few tracks that sounds great in their own right, you'll always have a better chance to end up with a punchier and clearers massage.

  26. A: If mixing try to bring that radio sound that we all grew up with. That flawless quality. If recording, I try to bring as much as I can in relation to production goals. My aim is always to do all I can at every stage of a record production, trying to leave as little as I can to the later stages.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: Changes according to what's being expected from me.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: I have two setups. One is an old school ssl 4000g+ equipped analog studio with outboards like la2a, tube tech, urei, summit audio, Neve and few other great tools. The other is a small laptop setup with benchmark converters.

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: I'm huge fan of Michael Brauer, Joel Hamilton, Tchad Blake ...

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
