French recording and mixing engineer, Gregory Germain, born and raised in Paris, but now based in Tokyo, joined the Japanese music industry in 2007, working at various name-studios, and recently established his own operation Sonic Synergies Engineering LLC. Fluent in Japanese, English, and French giving him a global reach.

My company is offering multiple high-end audio services in Tokyo, Japan but we also collaborate with other countries like South Korea, France, US, UK in music and post-production.

  1. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  2. A: VAC RAC TSL4 / UAD BAX EQ / UREI 1176 / PULTEC EQ / API 550

  3. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  4. A: Japanese, Korean pop music, but I also have foreign customers mostly from Europe.

  6. A: I like merging the beauty of both

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I started in France with a very small setup in my room tracking some vocals for my local friends, moved to Tokyo in 2004 and enrolled Studio Greenbird as an assistant. I worked with the best Japanese musicians, producers and engineers but also international artists from all over the world. So far I have 10 years of experience.

  10. A: Know your tools well. they have to be a part of your own body, train them like a muscle.
